Description
The well-maintained 1998 Poellman modified shape 3/4 carved back bass demonstrated the highest quality woods and decoration upgrades that this companies well known for. The fine grain spruce top shows bold grain definition and a little hazelfichte (bear claw figure). The densely flame-figured maple back, sides, and neck make a very bold visual statement. The chip carving at the edges and leaf carving in the corners are fine examples of Poellman’s decorative work. The individual Runner French style tuning machines are in perfect working order. The original bridge is included and the current working bridge made by Pat McCarthy is easily adjusted with the wooden wheel adjusters. The boxwood tailpiece allows for freedom of movement and quicker response to a bow. The ULSA endpin is in fine working order. The orange-amber varnish finish shows very little evidence of handling wear. The current strings are Pirastro Passione. Dimensions are: Top length 43 1/2″, Upper bout width 20″, Middle bout width 14″, Lower bout width 26 7/8″, Rib depth at tail 8″, Rib depth at upper bout bend 8″, Rib depth at neck 6 1/8″, String length 41 1/4″.
