This new Paesold 7/8 size model 592-B carved back bass is an excellent example of this fine college level bass. The European spruce top is particularly nice, with well defined grain along its width. the narrow grain at the center join. The relatively plain maple on the neck, ribs, and back plate are healthy and stress-free. The tuning machines are gold-plated Rubner single unit machines. The replacement endpin is a ULSA deluxe 10 mm model with ebony and brass collar. The bridge is a high quality European maple, fir with adjusters. The set up has been made with orchestral play in mind, using Pirastro Flexocore 92 stringing. Dimensions are: Top length 45 1/4″, Upper bout width 21″, Middle bout width 16″, Lower bout width 27 3/4″, Rib depth at tail 8 3/4″, Rib depth at upper bout 8″, Rib depth at neck 7 1/2″, String length 42 1/8″.
