New Koehler “Polonia” model 3/4 carved back



This new John Koehler “Polonia” model 3/4 carved back bass has a quick and rich response to a bow. The Sitka spruce top has even medium grain and a warm tap tone. The poplar ribs and back are of medium density and show a lot of color and warmth under a bow. The maple neck has been fit with Rubner tuning machines. The nut, fingerboard, tailpiece, and tailpiece saddle are ebony. The well-chosen maple bridge has been fit with adjusters. The Adjustable ULSA endpin has an aluminum tube. The lightly applied varnish is acoustically transparent and has a pleasing warm color. Currently strung with Thomastik Bel Canto strings, this bass has an even voice with much character throughout the ranges. Dimensions are: Top length 41 5/8″, Upper bout width 19 3/8″, Middle bout width 13 3/4″, Lower bout width 26 1/4″, Rib depth at tail 8 5/8″, Rib depth at upper bout corner 6 5/8″, Rib depth at neck joint 6 1/4″, String length 40 1/4″.
