This used Xuechang Sun 925 Gofriller model is an excellent example of this orchestral model. The upgrade features going from the closely related 920 model are the highest level of flame figured maple available and the lightly applied antiqued amber “cello style” oil varnish used. This bass has a large and solid presence in an orchestral setting, now strung with Pirastro Dominant strings. Medium grain spruce top, Flame figured maple back, sides, and neck, Replacement gold plated Rubner halfplate tuning machines, Ebony nut, fingerboard, tailpiece saddle, and replacement german-made Hill style tailpiece, ULSA 10 mm rod adjustable endpin with brass adjustment thumbscrew, French maple bridge with added adjusters, Antiqued deep amber colored “cello style” oil varnish, Pirastro Dominant strings, 20 gram New Harmony wolf note suppressor. Some repaired surface dings and finish repairs.
