Description
The new Shen SB 88s usually have a very colorful voice and is set up to play easily. The top, back, and sides are laminated maple. The maple neck has been fit with individual tuning machines that turn smoothly and precisely. The nut, fingerboard, and tailpiece saddle are made from ebony. The replacement Despiau bridge has been fit with adjusters. The adjustable endpin is the 10 mm type. The tailpiece is ebonized wood with a braided steel tailpiece wire. The oil varnish finish is beautiful and acoustically transparent. The strings used are D’Addario Helicore Hybrid. Dimensions are: Top length 42 7/8″, Upper bout width 20 1/4″, Middle bout width 14 3/8″, Lower bout width 26 1/4″, Rib depth at tail 8 1/4″, Rib depth at upper bout corner 7 1/4″, Rib depth at neck 6 1/8″, String length 41 1/4″.
