New Shen SB 200 willow 3/4 flatback



This Shen SB 200 willow 3/4 flatback (2021-2-68) has an especially rich low end response, making it a fine candidate for jazz play. The top has a fine and grain structure, with a lot of the interesting bearclaw figure (hazelfichte). The tap tone of the top is rich in the bass area of tone. The willow back and sides are of moderate density, with colorful tap tones. The maple neck has been fit with single unit mid-grade brass tuning machines. The nut, fingerboard, and tailpiece saddle are made from ebony. The tailpiece is ebonized moderately dense white wood. The adjustable endpin is the 10 mm steel rod type. The replacement bridge is a Despiau with fitted adjusters. The finish is a reddish-brown oil varnish. The strings are Spirocore Orchestra gauge, a great choice for jazz playing.
