This new SB 180 Deluxe 3/4 hybrid model advanced student bass (2019-12-141) is a very beautiful example, featuring a close grain spruce top with lots of hazelfichte (bear claw figure) and a neck that shows off a fair amount of flame figure. The laminated maple back and side show slight flame figure. The single unit tuning machines are mid-grade brass. The nut, fingerboard, and tailpiece saddle are ebony. The tailpiece is ebonized hardwood. The replacement European maple bridge has had adjusters installed. The adjustable endpin is the 10 mm steel rod type. The dark red oil varnish finish shows the figured top and neck in a beautiful way. The strings are D’Addario Zyex medium gauge.
Top length 42 3/4″, Upper bout width 20″, Middle bout width 14 1/2″, Lower bout width 26 1/4″, Rib depth at tail 8 1/8″, Rib depth at upper bout crease 7 3/4″, Rib depth at 6 1/8″, String length 41 1/2″.
