I am very excited to have this first example in the shop of the new Shen SB 150 hybrid model in the 7/8 Gemunder shape (2018-2-58). This instrument was exhibited at the recent NAMM show in Anaheim. Whether used in a high school or conservatory arco setting, or played in acoustic jazz groups, this bass has a large and forceful voice, but is very easy on the pocketbook. Medium grain spruce top with wider grain at edges, Laminated Maple sides and flat back, Maple neck, Individual unit gold plated brass tuning machines, Ebony nut, Fingerboard, tailpiece saddle and Hill style tailpiece, 10 mm steel rod endpin, Maple bridge with added adjusters, Jazz-arco setup, Zyex strings, Red-brown oil varnish finish. DIMENSIONS are: Top length 45″, Upper bout width 21″, Middle bout width 14 5/8″, Lower bout width 27″, Depth at tail 9 1/4″, Depth at upper bout bend 8 5/8″, Depth at neck 7 1/4″, String length 42 3/8″. A very powerful bass with a pleasing voice at an affordable price. With cover.
