New Paesold 592-B 7/8 carved back

This new Paesold 592-B 7/8 carved back offers a robust arco voice and a slightly shorter string length for easy playing. The medium-fine grain spruce top widens a little through the f-hole area and has resonant tap tones, with depth in the bass warmth in the midrange tone range. There is a little bit of hazelfichte (bearclaw figure) scattered near the center joint. This bass would be a fine candidate for a C extension. The plain maple ribs and back plate are of medium density and show richly resonant tap tones that reinforce the bass tonal ranges. The plain maple neck is fit with gold Rubner single unit tuning machines. The nut, fingerboard, tailpiece, and replacement tailpiece saddle are made of ebony.  The replacement adjustable endpin is a deluxe ULSA unit with brass collar and thumbscrew. The replacement bridge is a Despiau with added adjusters. The medium brown varnish is lightly applied , with a subtle antiquing effect. The current stringing is with the maroon silk Flexocore orchestral set for a large, smooth voice in orchestral settings. Dimensions are: Top length 45 1/2″, Upper bout width 21″, Middle bout width 16″, Lower bout width 27 5/8″, Rib depth at tail 8 7/8″, Rib depth at upper bout corner 8″, Rib depth at neck joint 7 1/2″, easy playing string length is 41 5/8″. The bass is a fine orchestral instrument at a moderate price, with good capabilities as a jazz instrument. With cover.
