New Paesold 592 3/4 carved back

This new Paesold 592 carved back 3/4 was made by E. Wilfer. The striking Rubner halfplate tuning machines are an exhibition upgrade. I have long enjoyed the German-made Paesold instruments in both 3/4 and 7/8 sizes for their light weight and responsive voice.  This Paesold 592 has a medium width Spruce top, fairly plain figure maple top, back, and neck, and ebony fittings all around. The New Harmony endpin has a solid graphite endpin post. The replacement German Maple bridge has aluminum adjusters and an hybrid arching for both jazz and orchestral playing. The strings are Spirocore E and Flexocore Deluxe A, D, and G. The lightly applied medium brown varnish allows for very free movement of the top.

Dimensions are:
Top length 42 12″, Upper bout width 19 1/2″, Medium bout width 14 12″, Lower bout width 25 5/8″, Rib depth at tail 7 7/8″, Rib depth at upper bout corner 7 3/4″, Rib depth at neck 7″, String length 41 1/8″.

This bass would make a fine jazz instrument, but it seems especially well suited toward orchestral play. With cover.
