This new Eastman Pietro Lombardi 7/8 bass has received a top regraduation and a major refinement of the Lisa Gass licensed C extension installation and distributor setup, allowing the bass to speak and perform at its highest potential. The spruce top is a higher grade than the one used for the 7/8 Eastman Jean-Pierre Lupot model in stock. The maple back and sides show faint flame figure. The maple neck is completely clear of any figure. The tuning machines are gold plated single unit Rubner models, set in to face of the pegbox cheeks. The licensed C extension of Lisa Gass’ design was installed by Eastman, but had significant refinements to the installation and setup performed by Jason Brown. The nut, fingerboard, and tailpiece saddle are ebony. The 7/8 maple tailpiece is one that I have had for 7-8 years before finally finding its cosmetic match in this bass. The maple bridge has adjusters added and the feet fitting was refined by Jason Brown. The soundpost fit and positioning was also refined by Jason Brown. The Endpin is a 12 mm steel rod type. The finish is an antiqued orange, as is standard for this model. The strings are Flexocore Deluxe, the most popular Arco strings that I sell.
Top length 44″, Upper bout width 21 5/8″, Middle bout width 15 3/4″, Lower bout width 27 1/2″, Rib depth at tail 9″, Rib depth at upper bout bend 7 1/2″, Rib depth at neck 6 3/4″, String length 41 1/4″. This bass has a profound voice all the way down to a low C not. A great choice in an affordable student bass with a C extension. With cover.
