ca. 1960s German 3/4 carved back: Performance Enhanced

This gorgeous ca. 1960s German small 3/4 carved back bass is a fine example of the performance enhancements regularly regularly added to these shop type instruments. The Spruce m top featuring bold grain lines has been regraduated to a balanced state that yields a very strong and projective voice for a bass off this size. The Beautifully figured Maple back, sides, and neck have nice musical tap tones. The Engraved black finished Rubner tuners are in very clean condition and turn nicely. The nut, replacement fingerboard, Hill style tailpiece, and tailpiece saddle are all made of high quality African Ebony. The German Teller bridge has been fitted with adjusters. The New Harmony endpin features a solid graphite pin. The original golden orange spirit varnish finish is in very nice condition and beautifully shows off the very attractive grain features of this bass. The Pirastro Flexocore deluxe strings are perfectly suited to professional level orchestral player who may prefer this lightly smaller 3/4 size instrument.
