Art Bivaj Baroque model

This 2019 Art Bivaj Baroque model 3/4 carved back bass is relatively light in build weight and quite responsive. It is currently strung with Thomastick Bel canto strings, though it could also have a nice response to Pirastro Perpetual or Thomastik Superflexible for combination pizz and Arco play. The spruce top features medium-wide grain and produces a rich voice, played pizza or Arco. The slightly flame figured maple produces complex midrange tap tones. The tuning machines are possibly made in Hungary. The nut, tailpiece saddle, tailpiece and fingerboard are all made from African ebony. The adjustable endpin may also have been made in Hungary. The maple bridge has no adjusters, a traditional Arco setup. The varnish is a quiet shade of dark brown. The dimensions are: Top length 43 1/4″, Upper bout width 19 1/2″, Middle bout width 14 5/8″, Lower bout width 25 1/8″, Rib depth at tail 8 3/4″, Rib depth at upper bout corner 7 1/2″, Rib depth at neck joint 6 1/8″ String length 41 1/4″. This bass is very satisfying to play, with an easy response and supple feel. With cover.
