Description
This 2018 Christian Pedersen has been played intensively and consistently for 5 years of conservatory studies. As result it has developed a mature and colorful voice in this relatively short period of time. The spruce top plate has a strong character with medium grain width. The grain width is more narrow at the center. The top plate tap tones are richly musical and colorful. The medium density maple ribs and back plate are only lightly figured. The tap tones are solid and focused in the midrange. The C extension comes from the Robertson shop when the bass was new. The tuning machines are made by Irving Sloane. The ebony fingerboard is cut for extended range on the D and G strings. The endpin is a solid graphite unit. The maple bridge has been fit with delrin adjusters. The varnish has been lightly applied, allowing the top to move easily. Dimensions are: Top length 43 1/4″, Upper bout width 18 1/4″, Middle bout width 14″, Lower bout width2 1/4″, Rib depth at tail 8 1/4″, Rib depth at upper bout corner 7 1/8″, Rib depth at neck joint 6″, Slightly shortened string length from false nut is 41 3/8″.
