This 1970s German 3/4 carved back bass will make a nice jazz performance instrument. The medium-fine grain spruce top has had a few professional crack repairs. Is has a nice resonant and complex tap tone. The lightly figured back and ribs are of medium density German Maple. The adjustable endpin is a 10 mm steel rod. The maple bridge has added adjusters. The aged African ebony fingerboard is a recent replacement. The half plate tuning machines turn smoothly and precisely. The dimensions are: Top length 43″, Upper bout width 19″, Middle bout width 14 1/4″, Lower bout width 25 1/2″, Rib depth at tail 7 5/8″, Rib depth at upper bout corner 7 5/8″, Rib depth at neck joint 6 1/8″, String length 42 1/8″.
