This ca. 1970s Pfretzschner 1/2 size all-laminated bass plays quite well and has a pleasing voice. The bass got a comprehensive setup and health check up a few years ago. The nut, fingerboard, tailpiece, and tailpiece saddle are ebony. The endpin is an adjustable aluminum unit. The maple bridge has adjusters installed. The tuning machines are Rubner single unit machines. The strings are D’Addario Helicore hybrid. Dimensions are: Top length 39 3/4″, Upper bout width 19″, Middle bout width 13 1/2″, Lower bout width 23 3/4″, Rib depth at tail 7″, Rib depth at upper bout corner 6 7/8″, Rib depth at neck joint 5 3/4″, String length 38 1/2″.
