This 1960 Hoyer 3/4 carved back is a light and lively German bass with nicely figured woods as a bonus. A nice combination bass for arco and pizz playing. Medium grain width spruce top, Lightly flame figured German maple back, sides, and neck, Nickel plated engraved halfplate tuning machines, Ebony nut, fingerboard, and tailpiece saddle, Ebonized tailpiece, 10 mm steel rod endpin, Maple bridge with added adjusters, Golden brown spirit varnish finish, Thomastik Superflexible strings.
Dimensions are: Top length 42 1/2″, Upper bout width 19 1/8″, Middle bout width 14 1/2″, Lower bout width 25 7/8″, Depth at tail 8 1/4″, Depth at upper bout corner 7 1/4″, Depth at neck 7 1/8″, String length 41″.
Some odd dark lacquer sections in the lower bout area of top and back. The slightly warped bridge is still serviceable, but could be replaced for better tone. Colorful voice in all ranges, a nice high end student instrument or gigging bass. With cover.
