1930s German 3/4 carved back

This great sounding and easy playing 1930s German 3/4 carved back has had a number of performance enhancements, including a neck rest, New German source African ebony fingerboard and nut, light top regraduation and bass bar remodeling, and a new French bridge. The even fine-medium grain stiff spruce top has excellent grain definition and a very musical and resonant tap tone. The mildly flame figured maple back and sides are also moderately dense and have a ringing tap tone. The unfigured maple neck has had a solid and stable volute crack repair as part of our recent round of repair and performance upgrade procedures. The brass halfplate tuners have been well maintained and work smoothly. The replacement German sourced African ebony fingerboard and nut were also added recently. The ca. 1960s aluminum shaft endpin is clean and works smoothly and precisely. The replacement ebony tailpiece is of the older French design that was often used prior to WWII. The high quality French bridge has added adjusters as part of the setup. The varnish finish is golden amber into brown and has had some touchup as part the recent round of repairs and upgrades. Currently string with Spirocore Orchestra strings, the bass is versatile in both pizz and arco settings.
