New Xuechang Sun 120 Revoiced

This fine example of Xuechang Sun’s least expensive regular model, the 120, ┬áhas one of the spectacular fine, even grain russian spruce tops that is a hallmark of Sun’s normal build. I had Allan Droyan regraduate (revoice) the top in advance of setup for a richer and more developed voice. Plain figure maple sides and neck, with mildly flame figured maple back. It has been fitted with a 10 mm steel rod endpin and african ebony tailpiece. The old german deluxe maple bridge was fitted with adjusters as part of a comprehensive setup. Medium brown varnish finish. Dimensions are: Top length 42 1/2″, Upper bout width 20 3/8″, Middle bout width 15 1/4″, Lower bout width 26 7/8″, Depth at neck 7 1/8″, Depth at upper bout bend 8 3/8″, Depth at tail 9 1/4″, String length 40 3/4″. This bass really shines with arco play, now strung with Thomastik Bel Canto strings. Tonally complete with nice harmonic complexity. With cover.
