This new Shen SB 150 hybrid 3/4 model (2018-5-43) has an especially colorful upper midrange that would be useful for soloing jazz players or for a student extending into the upper reaches of the thumb position. Fine grain spruce top, Maple laminate sides and back, Maple neck, Standard gold plated individual tuning machines, Ebony nut, fingerboard, and tailpiece saddle, Ebonized tailpiece, 10 mm steel rod endpin, Teller Maple bridge with added adjusters, Dark red oil varnish finish, Strung with D’Addario Zyex strings. DIMENSIONS are: Top length 42 1/2″, Upper bout width 20″, Middle bout width 14 1/2″, Lower bout width 26 1/8″, Depth at tail 8 1/2″, 8″, Depth at neck 6 5/8″, String length 41 1/4″. A strong sounding bass all over, the upper midrange and treble reminds me more of the performance of a typical good SB 180 deluxe hybrid model. With cover.
