This new 2016 Paesold 7/8 size model 592 gamba carved back bass is made in the Wilfer shop that has the consistently good conception, materials, workmanship and finishing that we have come to expect from a family company that has been making basses for over 120 years. The alpine spruce top is of medium density and stiffness, the plain figure european maple parts are straight and well aged. Gold plated Rubner tuning machines, Fine aged african ebony nut, fingerboard, Hill style tailpiece, and tailpiece saddle, 10 mm steel rod german endpin, Orange-brown oil varnish finish. DIMENSIONS are: Top length 45″, Upper bout width 21 3/3″, Middle bout width 15″, Lower bout width 27″, Depth at neck 8 7/8″, Depth at upper bout corner 9 3/8″, Depth at tail 9 3/8″, String length 41 5/8″. Though the dimensions are fully 7/8 size, the playing is made easier with a moderate 41 5/8″ string length and a relieved top plate edge in the treble side of the neck joint that is flush with the sides where the forearm would fall. This bass has a large, solid voice that functions quite well and easily in both arco and jazz settings. This is a particularly fine conservatory type bass priced under $10,000. With cover.

Price: $9,750
