This 1960s Framus 3/4 carved back bass has had some recent internal work and gotten a new neck that improve performance and playability far beyond the expectations of a standard configuration instrument from the factory. Medium grain european spruce top, Plain figure maple back and sides, Replacement maple neck with a fuller medium profile, New gold plated Rubner single unit tuners, Replacement full thickness aged african ebony fingerboard and nut, Oil varnish finish for the replacement neck, ¬†Ebony tailpiece saddle, Replacement african ebony german tailpiece, German made aluminum rod endpin with ebony collar, New German maple bridge with adjusters added as part of a comprehensive setup, Original varnish finish on the body of the instrument. DIMENSIONS are: Top length 42 1/2″, Upper bout width 19 7/8″, Middle bout width 14 3/8″, Lower bout width 25 1/4″, Depth at neck 7″, Depth at upper bout corner 8 1/8″, Depth at tail 8 3/8″, String length 42″. This reborn 1960s bass has a large robust voice with an unexpectedly profound low end and a colorful midrange that might remind one of a 1930s instrument. Though a nice orchestral instrument, this bass is especially attractive as a jazz instrument. Currently strung with Spirocore mittel strings. With cover.
