This ca. 1940s Czech 3/4 flatback ┬ácomes to the shop with some expert repairs and maintenance and a wonderful pizz voice that speaks with a powerful presence and very rich musical tone that is far beyond what might be expected with the pedigree that it has. High quality fine-medium grain European spruce top, Plain figure maple back and sides, Beech neck, Brass halfplate hat peg tuners, Ebony nut, fingerboard, tailpiece, and tailpiece saddle, Boyd Poulson machined rod endpin with rosewood collar, Bausch bridge with added adjusters (along with Don Kinch bridge for arco work), Light brown varnish finish, Strung with Spirocore weich strings. Internal top work and fingerboard planing by Pat McCarthy. Dimensions are: Top length 42 3/8″, Upper bout width 19 5/8″, Middle bout width 13 3/4″, Lower bout width 25 3/8″, Depth at tail 8 1/2″, Depth at Upper bout shoulder 8 1/8″, Depth at neck 6 3/8″, String length 42 1/8″. With light cover. Also included are a light quiver, 2 green snake humidifiers, and the Don Kinch bridge.
