This consignment ca. 1910 German 3/4 flatback is a quickly responsive and versatile instrument. It has a lively and rich voice with a lot of presence. The fairly short string length for this period, 41 3/8″, makes it very easy to play. Medium grain spruce top, plain figure maple back and sides, replacement french style tuners, Hill style rosewood tailpiece, healthy ebony fingerboard, Gotz 10 mm steel rod endpin, well made bridge with no adjusters, medium red-brown oil varnish. Dimensions are: Top length 42″, Upper bout width 20 1/4″, Middle bout width 14 5/8″, Lower bout width 25 1/4″, Depth at neck 6″, Depth at upper bout corner 8″, Depth at tail 8 1/4″, String length 41 3/8″.
