This ca. 1900 Bohemian 3/4 carved back saw lots of use from the previous owner in various classical settings. The original pegbox had been repaired a few times before, but finally failed permanently. We had a replacement neck made by Allan Droyan and now this bass lives a renewed life as both an arco bass and as a quick responding jazz instrument. Fine grain spruce top, Plain figure Maple back, sides, and neck,Single unit large gear tuning machines, Ebony nut, fingerboard, tailpiece, and tailpiece saddle, Aluminum rod endpin, Teller bridge with added adjusters, Non-professional finish application over remaining old original varnish, Currently strung with Spirocore Orchestra gauge, though the arco voice is quite beautiful with Bel Canto strings. Dimensions are: Top length 42 1/2″, Upper bout width 20″, Middle bout width 14 1/8″, Lower bout width 24 1/2″, Depth at tail 8″, Depth at upper bout corner 7 7/8″, Depth at neck 6 3/8″, String length 42 1/2, Bridge height 6 7/8″. Allan made sure that the old crack repairs are solid and tight. We only found one short crack near the bass side F-hole and it is now glued. The feel is loose and lively. The responsive voice is quick and nimble. A nice performing older bass at an attractive price.

Price: $5,500
