It is a particularly fine orchestral instrument and has been fitted with a Stenholm C extension system. The top has a low Italian style arching and is made from evenly medium-fine grain spruce, the back and sides are mildly flame figured maple. The mildly flame figure figured neck is original and has not been grafted. The dark walnut brown varnish accentuates the flame figuring in the maple parts. The chrome plated half plate tuners are older and in fine working order. The maple bridge (made by Lemur?) has aluminum adjusters fitted. The new thick ebony fingerboard has an epper register extension for the D and G strings, The bass has undergone a complete restoration in the last 18 months and is fine voice from regular play. The dimensions are: Top length 43 1/2″, Upper bout width 20 1/2″, Middle bout width 14 3/4″, Lower bout width 26 3/8, Depth at tail 8 1/2″, Depth at upper bout 8 1/4″, Depth at neck 6 3/4″, String length 42 3/4″. An especially fine performing orchestral instrument with a profoundly large and deep voice. With cover.
