I should order some more. It is very much a professional grade performance instrument. The upgrades features are: better woods for the 596 model, violin corners, and the 7/8 size. This bass would have a list price of close to $15,000 these days. The voice has developed dramatically with regular daily jazz play since I sold it several years ago. Mildly flame figured maple back and sides, unfigured maple neck, Engraved rubber half plate tuners, Gotz aluminum rod endpin, ebony endpin, Despiau bridge with adjusters added, ebony tailpiece, Dark red-brown varnish finish, some finish wear on top and edges. Dimensions are: Top length 44 3/8″, Upper bout width 21 1/8″, Middle bout width 15″, Lower bout width 27 1/4″, Depth at neck 7 3/8″, Depth at upper bout corner 8 7/8″, Depth at tail 9″, String length 42 1/8″. The very large and rich voice functions very well in either orchestral or jazz settings. A fine performance instrument. With cover.
