This returning custom Shen SB 300 made for the NAMM show is my all-time favorite Shen bass ever in inventory. The spectacular woods were purchased from a German wood source to make an extra strong impression at the show. Though an especially fine orchestral instrument, this bass has successfully been used in jazz settings by both recent owners. Medium grain width German spruce top, Flame figured German maple back, sides, and neck, Gold single unit Rubner machines, Ebony fittings, Maple bridge fit by Michael Olivola, Brass 10 mm ULSA endpin with ebony collar, Medium golden amber oil varnish finish. Dimensions are: Top length 44 7/8″, Upper bout width 21 1/8″, Middle bout width 15 1/4″, Lower bout width 27 1/4″, Depth at neck joint 7″, Depth at upper bout corner 8 1/2″, Depth at tail 8 7/8″, String length 42 1/8″. This bass is an exceptionally versatile jazz or orchestral instrument. With cover.
