This consignment 7/8 Flatback bass was made in eastern Europe and sold through one of the large New York City bass shops. It is a nice mid-grade student or conservatory orchestral instrument. Very lightly figured carpathian maple back and sides, Medium grain carpathian spruce top, Lightly flame figured carpathian maple neck, Single unit tuners, Ebony fittings, Maple bridge with adjusters made by Pat McCarthy, Carbon fiber endpin, Dark red-brown varnish. Dimensions are: Top length 44 1/2″, Upper bout width 20 1/2″, Middle bout width 15 1/4″, Lower bout width 27 1/2″, Depth at tail 9 1/2″, Depth at upper bout corner 9″, Depth at neck joint 7″, String length 41″. This bass is an effective orchestral instrument with a lot of presence and depth. Ideal for a community orchestra player or student.
