This consignment 1996 Kolstein Panormo well represents their shop bass work at the time in this particular orchestral model. The unfinished bodies and necks were sourced from Europe and in the Kolstein shop were regraduated in the tops, finished, and outfitted with Kolsteins house brand tuners, adjustable bridge, and endpin, Adjustable Kolstein maple bridge, Antiqued orange oil varnish finish, Strung with Kolstein strings. Dimensions are: Top length 42 7/8″, Upper bout width 20 1/2″, Middle bout width 14 3/4″, Lower bout width 26 1/2″, Depth at tail 8 3/8″, Depth at upper bout corner 8 1/4″, Depth at neck 7 1/4″, String length 41 5/8″. The regraduated top has a lively and quick response with a rich tonal character. The Kolstein strings are low tension arco oriented strings that yield a beautiful singing voice. A more substantial presence could be obtained with a more conventional set of orchestral tension strings.
