This consignment 1967 Roth fully carved 3/4 gamba corner bass is made of particularly nice materials and has developed a lovely voice through regular arco play. Fine and even grain spruce top, lightly flame figured maple back and sides, heavily flame figured neck, brass halfplate tuners, Ebony nut, fingerboard, tailpiece and tailpiece saddle, Despiau bridge with maple shims under the bridge feet, replacement steel rod endpin, dark orange-brown varnish finish. Dimensions are: Top length 42 1/2″, Upper bout width 19 1/8″, Middle bout width 14 1/8″, Lower bout width 25 3/8″, Depth at tail 8 3/8″, Depth at upper bout corner 8 1/4″, Depth at neck 6 7/8″, String length 41 3/4″. Well maintained and cared for, this 48 year old bass has a lively response and a complex voice when played pizz or arco. Currently strung with Spirocore mittel strings.
