1947 Czech 3/4 flatback

This light and lively 3/4 Czech flatback was a school bass and has been used in swing music settings for the last 10 years. Plain maple back and sides, Fine grain spruce top, maple neck with hatpeg tuners, Ebony nut, fingerboard, tailpiece, and tailpiece saddle, 10 mm steel rod endpin, Despiau briege with adjusters added, Brown varnish. Dimensions are: Top length 42 1/4″, Upper bout width 20 3/8″, Middle bout width 14 1/2″, Lower bout width 25 3/8″, String length 42 1/4″. This bass has had significant work done to the top, regaining the nice arching that it originally had. The voice is bold and the response is quick. Currently strung with Evah Pirazzi weich string, the pizz voice is nimble and punchy, while the arco voice is is full of character in the midrange. A very nice jazz-swing pizz instrument. This consigned bass comes without a cover, but we have many options available.
