This consignment 1941 Gibson B-135 (B-135-741) bass is Gibson’s top of the line model all-laminated model with 3-piece neck, single unit Kluson tuning machines, ebony fittings (Macassar ebony fingerboard), and amber lacquer finish over the curly maple and spruce outer ply body parts. The replacement tailpiece is a black painted Kay, and the solid end[in has been replaced with a german adjustable endpin. DIMENSIONS are: Top length 42″, Upper bout width 21″, Middle bout width 15″, Lower bout width 25 3/4″, Depth at tail 8 1/4″, Depth at neck 7 3/8″, String length 42 1/2″. The neck angle is quite good, with a bridge height of 7 1/8″. This bass is strung with an older set of gut strings. The voice is quite loud and it projects very well. Repairs to the scroll, neck heel, and outer ply of the top under the bridge are tidy and professionally done. With cover.
