1930 Juzek 3/4 carved back

This lush voiced example is the earliest label dated Juzek bass that I have ever had in the shop. Recently completely overhauled and set up by Mike Olivola. Lightly flame figured maple back and sides, Medium grain width spruce top, Very lightly figured maple neck, Halfplate hatpeg tuners, New ebony nut, fingerboard, and tailpiece, New Despiau bridge with adjusters, Gotz aluminum endpin, old refinish in medium brown varnish. Dimensions are: Top length 41 1/4″, Upper bout width 19 5/8″, Middle bout width 14 1/8″, Lower bout width 25 1/8″, Depth at neck 6 1/2″, Depth at upper bout angle bend 8 1/8″, Depth at tail 8 1/4″, String length 41 3/4″. Mike Olivola recently removed and replaced the top for crack repairs and cleat replacement, reset the neck for more effective overstand and bridge height, and performed a fine setup for jazz play. This bass easily speaks with a rich and quick voice. An especially fine jazz bass. with cover.
